UHA Named Among 2010 Best Places to Work in Hawaii

(HONOLULU, February 1, 2010)—Hawaii’s third-largest commercial health insurer, UHA, was recently named one of the 2010 Best Places To Work In Hawaii.

The “Best Places to Work in Hawaii” program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Hawaii, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. One of 60 companies recognized among the 2010 Best Places to Work in Hawaii, UHA participated in a two-part survey process. The first survey consisted of evaluating each participating company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. An independent research organization, Best Companies Group, managed the overall registration, survey and analysis process, and determined the final rankings that will be published in the Hawaii Business magazine.

“Along with providing outstanding health insurance benefits, assuring that its associates are provided a healthy, friendly, and excellent working environment shares as an equally important component of UHA’s Mission,” states Dr. Max Botticelli, UHA CEO.

UHA was also recently recognized by the American Heart Association as a 2009 Gold Level Start! Fit-Friendly Company.
