HH@WA Announces 1st Hawai'i Wellness Leaders Conference
Honolulu, HI (Sept. 28, 2016) – Resilience is the ability to rebound after a setback or failure – and it might just be the single most important characteristic of a productive employee.
On Tuesday, Oct. 18, Hawai‘i Health at Work Alliance’s First Annual Hawai‘i Wellness Leaders Conference will feature David Hunnicutt, PhD, who will outline the latest research in resilience and illustrate how to create a culture of resilience in the workplace to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
The keynote—entitled “The Resilience Dividend: Creating a Culture of Performance, Achievement and Well-Being”—will be delivered by Dr. Hunnicutt during the 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. conference at the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki. Complimentary breakfast will be offered in addition to a skill-building workshop and a wellness expo.
Dr. Hunnicutt has shared his research and ideas with leaders from a wide range of organizations including General Motors and Stanford University. He served as the president of the national non-profit Wellness Council of America for two decades.
In his keynote address, Dr. Hunnicutt will cover:
- Resilience Clarified: What resilience really means and why it’s essential to creating a culture of performance, achievement and happiness.
- Resilience Personified: The tangible benefits of resilience and how it creates competitive advantage and impacts the bottom line.
- Resilience Declassified: The three specific keys to building resilient people and organizations and the significant outcomes one can expect to experience.
Register by Oct. 11 by visiting hhawa.com/events. Up to three representatives per company are invited to attend.
“In addition to striving to meet workplace expectations, employees bring with them all the stressors of their personal lives,” explains Howard Lee, president and CEO of UHA Health Insurance. “At the inaugural conference, we hope to give employers and managers key tools and tactics that can be directly applied to help employees learn to be more resilient to lead fuller, more balanced lives.”
