Recognizing the Compassionate Care of Nurses

UHA Health Insurance joined all of Hawai’i in sadness over the catastrophic wildfires on Maui back in early August. We continue to work closely with our health partners and community to better understand how we can support our customers with additional resources and services.

As of today, UHA and our associates have donated a total of $41,380 to organizations supporting Maui: the Maui Food Bank, Maui Humane Society, American Red Cross and Salvation Army. We deeply appreciate the generosity and kindness of our associates who’ve supported the Maui community through this effort or others.

During the holidays, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Shifting our focus to cherishing family and prioritizing our health and well-being, can ensure that we are at our best and that our family is cared for.

For those that require additional care, our nurses are reaching out and connecting with our most vulnerable members. I want to acknowledge them and the tireless work they take on to care for our community. Nurses serve as the backbone of our healthcare system, providing critical care and support to patients when they need it the most. At the heart of our healthcare team are the Registered Nurse (RN) Care Specialists at UHA, who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our members.

Our RN Care Specialists are compassionate and knowledgeable professionals that play a vital role in ensuring that our members receive the highest quality care and support. RNs provide invaluable support to our members, resulting in shorter hospital stays, reduced risk of complications, better managed benefits, and faster recovery. From ensuring necessary care is available upon returning home to actively preventing hospital-induced complications, our RNs are there every step of the way.

As a smaller company, we have the privilege of providing more personalized care and service. Our team of nurses are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our members – one person at a time. Their compassionate approach stems from their genuine care and ensuring that every member receives the assistance needed to achieve better health. We are proud to support and honor our team of nurses as they continue to make a difference in improving the health and well-being of our community.
