Account Executive

Account Executive

Department: Sales      Work: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

  • Responsible for achieving assigned sales goals through successful new business development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Knowledge

  • Able to navigate through internal and external computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel, and have proficient PC keyboarding skills
  • Able to use acquired skills & knowledge and willingness to learn new skills

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • Associate Degree from an accredited university/college or equivalent in specialized business training
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance in accordance with UHA required minimums
  • Insurance Producer License 431:9A-102 required
  • New Hire’s are allowed three months from date of hire to acquire Health Insurance Producer License Certification.
    • While studying for licensing, Account Executive will execute functions of an AE with the exception of selling
    • If unable to acquire Health Insurance Producer License at the end of three month period, employment with UHA will be terminated.

Experience

  • Two years of recent applicable sales experience
  • Healthcare, human resources, or teaching experience a plus

Network Administrator

Network Administrator

Department: Information Services      Work: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate availability, response times and security (collectively referred to as service levels) for all network, computer and telephony systems (collectively referred to as UHA systems) used by UHA associates, partners and customers
    • For in-house systems, responsible for the acquisition, upgrade and maintenance of all hardware and software required to achieve appropriate service levels
    • For externally provided systems, responsible for monitoring and proactively working with the external service provider to ensure continual achievement of appropriate service levels
  • Responsible for securing user access to all UHA systems
  • Responsible for the development, upgrade and maintenance of all network and computer system applications and/or interfaces
  • Work with department managers to develop, program and run reports as required or authorized by company policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience with:
    • Server operating systems and applications such as UNIX/LINUX, Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory and Microsoft SQL Server
    • Network systems such as LAN/WAN switches, routers, firewalls, forward/reverse proxies and DNS
    • End-user systems and applications such as Microsoft Office, Crystal Reports, VPN and RDP
  • Able to use acquired skills & knowledge and willingness to learn new skills
  • Knowledge and experience with project management tools and methodologies such as Microsoft Project, critical path management, resource allocation and issue logging/resolution. Able to analyze, plan, organize and implement complex projects with a minimum of supervision
  • Staff member must meet reasonable performance standards as approved by management

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • Bachelor degree in MIS or CIS from an accredited university or college.

Experience

  • Five years work experience in network and computer systems administration

Outreach Liaison

Outreach Liaison

Department: Contracting Services      Work: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

  • The primary purpose is to establish and maintain relations with our network of healthcare providers; to recruit new providers to our network; to assist providers to resolve claims or coding issues to educate Providers on new initiatives and other UHA services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Knowledge

  • Able to navigate through internal and external computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel, and have proficient PC keyboarding skills
  • Able to use acquired skills & knowledge and willing to learn new skills
  • Proficient in CPT coding
  • Proficient in provider reimbursement and fee schedules
  • Able to problem solve 

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance in accordance with UHA required minimums
  • Associate Degree required, Bachelor degree from an accredited college/university preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred, or a commitment to obtain the CPC credential within designated timeframe determined by department manager 

Experience

  • Two years of healthcare-related experience, health insurance preferred

Special Services Liaison

Special Services Liaison

Department: Health Care Services      Work: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

  • Administer and facilitate MOUs, LOAs, and ASC Level of Assignments on behalf of UHA with Providers, Facilities, Labs, and/or Anesthesiology Groups.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contracted providers/vendors, both within the state of Hawaii and the mainland, as well as with key associates within UHA’s Contracting Services, Claims Services and Health Care Services departments to ensure a seamless process from prior authorization to contract implementation, to claims resolution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Knowledge

  • Able to navigate through internal and external computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel, and have proficient PC keyboarding skills
  • Able to use acquired skills & knowledge and willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and perform the work with an open-minded, team-oriented approach
  • Knowledge of business office operations, administrative clerical operations
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with CPT codes, desired
  • Ability to read, interpret, and negotiate the terms of contracts, desiredv
  • Knowledge of the verification of First Health/non-First Health providers, facilities, labs, anesthesiologist groups, desired
  • Ability to research the UHA eligible and out of state provider charges, desired
  • Familiarity with the concepts regarding in network/out of network providers, preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and strong organizational skills, effective time management and ability to manage multiple priorities

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • Associate Degree from accredited college or university, Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred

Experience

  • Two years of previous Administrative Assistant experience, preferably in a health care related setting
  • Three years of customer services experience required
